In 2016 Claire M Singer founded Organ Reframed at Union Chapel, London, where she is Music Director of the organ. The only festival of its kind, Organ Reframed focuses on commissioning innovative new music, introducing new artists and audiences to how versatile this instrument is. Organ Reframed has also travelled to Amsterdam and Moscow. Past commissions include Éliane Radigue, Low, Chris Watson, Abul Mogard, Hildur Guðnadóttir, Philip Jeck, Phill Niblock, Mark Fell, Mira Calix, Darkstar, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, Ipek Gorgun, Anna von Hausswolff and Sarah Davachi with performers including London Contemporary Orchestra, James McVinnie and Frédéric Blondy.

Looking at the rapt attention of the crowd, and the applause at the end of the concert, Singer’s ambition to reframe the organ is fulfilled. It’s spectacular, and bodes well for next year’s instalment - Electronic Sound Magazine
